Secrets to Weight Loss and Financial Freedom

It is true, I have the secret and because I know that it is a way that I can make the world a better place, I am going to share it with you right now:

So there you go. In less than a two minute period I gave you the answers to two of the most talked about, written about, and complained about problems in our society. That is it. Done. There is not going to be a sequel to either of these pieces of advice. The are yours for the taking, complete as they are.
Wait, what is that you say? That is nothing new? Those aren't revolutionary thoughts? No? Well, if you already knew these were the solutions to the problems, why do you still have these problems? If these two nuggets of wisdom are truth, and they are in fact the right answers the the questions, then why is there an entire industry devoted to trying to answer them?
Because even though they are the answers and the very simple dedication to their advice and direction would change your world and mine, we don't because we lack the discipline to be that committed. Things come up, celebrations happen, and our great intentions fly out the window.
I will tell you, when I think about going to the gym when my alarm goes off at 6:00am every morning, it does not thrill me. In fact, most mornings I catch at least 10 minutes of snooze time. But I will tell you what helps; I don't think about my time in the gym as a way to shed a couple of pounds so my swimsuit and I are more agreeable this summer. What has really helped me is the thought that being healthy and in better shape now, and establishing those good habits now, are going to lead to a healthier and longer life in the long run. If you think about the end game more than the short term, the present suffering is not worthy to be compared to the glories that can be revealed.
If you take a step back from the current situation that you are in and think about it in terms of grand scheme of life, it really isn't that bad and if it doesn't kill you, it just gives you that many more opportunities to get stronger. Life is going to have its ups and its downs, but if you pull back and see how the right now fits into the big picture, it makes it a little easier.
So, if your weight loss and financial goals are very short sighted, your results will be as well.
